Concerned authorities in Nigeria have been urged to increase investment in education to overcome the plethora of challenges confronting the sector.

Concerned stakeholders, including Dr. Anthony Idigbe (SAN), Dr ABC Orjiako, Co-founder, Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc, and Prof Jacinta Opara gave the charge at the thanksgiving dinner and award ceremony of the Dominican university, Ibadan, held in Lagos on Saturday.

They also used the occasion to commend the institution for the provision of quality education. Idigbe urged the stakeholders to double their investments in the education sector, saying he was proud of the exploits of the Dominican university.

Idigbe said investing heavily in human capital development was a necessary step in the development of a great nation.

Also speaking, Prof Opara, Dominican University, VC, expressed happiness on the accomplishments of the institution, noting the high standard of learning, research, acquisition of specialised skills, and comprehensive training provided for the students.
